Hi, I’m Jantina Masters—wife, momma, (hybrid homeschool mom)lol, educator, psalmist, writer, and the heart behind Teaching by Faith©. This space was born during a very difficult time in my life, when I yearned for community, and wanted to find other moms like me. During that time, I began to write on a blog I named, "Confessions of a Praying Mom." I experienced healing with every note and post. I began to journal about my faith journey, filing journals and notebooks with real conversations and pain I encountered with God in the middle of divorce, motherhood and later...death.

 

God met me at the kitchen table, in the car line, in the closet on the floor in tears, laying on the altar Sunday mornings at church, in my quiet prayers, in my questions, and soon...in my surrender.

I tried to start this again in 2019, then in 2024. I renamed it, "The Surrendered Mom." God met me in that space too. Teaching by Faith© is what Confessions of a Praying Mom and The Surrendered Mom became through, varying seasons of me growing, healing, stretching and learning.

 

This space is where I share the words, lessons, and resources God is developing in me as I live them. Here, you’ll find my conversational devotionals, Conversations with ABBA, Letters to the Kingdom Building Momma, and more faith-filled journals and books (soon to come). The Teaching by Faith© Podcast, and the community that was and is my answered prayer, The Abiding Room - a place of encouragement for women learning to mother, create, teach, and build with God.

You do not have to arrive here polished or perfect. Come as you are. Come in whatever season of motherhood you are in. My prayer is that something here helps you slow down, hear God clearly, and remember that you are not building alone.
